Blood spilled and darkness revealedAsatira had been taking care of her usual routines for quite some time now... she still hadn't opened up to most of the pride... yet somehow she'd managed to gain a mate by the name of Neva some time ago... though she'd rarely seen her mate since then... Asatira figured it was just something that could be helped. With a slight sigh the lioness picked herself up and left her den. For some reason she felt restless tonight, even more so than usual... Perhaps it was because it was nearing the second year since she'd been run out of her previous kingdom? Whatever the case may be, Asatira tried not to focus on it too much. Absently she wondered around her pride's land before her aimless wondering took her to the Jungle that rose between her pride's land the the pride of lions and lionesses most thought were just plain crazy.

of telephone poles contrasted by the sun.
Curled leaves are land mines littered
on the lawn where imprints of twigs
and a nurturing robin's tracks collect.
Branchlets and leaflets stem from
porch step railings and mailboxes;
the numbers read odd on the east,
even on the west side of the asphalt:

the siding reads, "Davis."
This house is home to family
so let the sparrows in.
